چکیده

The solvolysis of phenyl triflate (3), phenyl nonaflate (4), o-methylphenyl nonaflate ( 5 ) , o-cyclopropylphenyl nonaflate (6), o-methoxyphenyl triflate (7), 2,6-dimethoxyphenyl triflate (S), 2,6-diisopropylphenyl triflate (9), 3 3 dimethoxyphenyl triflate (lo), 3,5-dicyclopropylphenyl triflate (11), 3,5-di(2-methylcyclopropyl)phenyl triflate (12), 2,4,6-tricyclopropylphenyl triflate (13), and 2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl triflate (14) were examined in great detail under a wide variety of conditions. In highly polar nonnucleophilic solvents no reaction was observed and the unreacted triflates were recovered quantitatively. In the presence of nucleophiles or nucleophilic solvents the sole products observed were the corresponding phenols. Careful labeling and product studies showed that these phenols arose by nucleophilic attack on sulfur and S-0 bond cleavage. We have not been able to find any evidence for aryl cation intermediates,

Disubstituted Carbenium Ions as Reactive Intermediates in Organic Chemistry

Recent results in the chemistry of disubstituted carbenium ions (vinyl cations and phenyl cations) are described separately under three different sections: From kinetic and solvolytic data of several 1—cyclobutenyl nonaflates, the intermediacy of a non-classical vinyl cation, namely the 1-cyclobutenyl cation 2 is established. Cycloaddition reactions of solvolytically generated vinyl cations wit...

A Novel Designed Ligands of 4,4,6',6'-Tetramethyl-3'-aryl-3',5',6',7'-tetrahydrospiro[cyclohexane-1,2'-indole]-4',6(1'H)-diones for Metal Cations Removal from Water and Wastewater

Water is the main pillar of human life, which experiencing widespread pollutions that turn clean waters to a non consumption form gradually. Contaminating resources of the clean waters are the human and industries have been made by the human. Because the available water resources for humans and organisms are limited, we must seek recovery of contaminated waters. Some novel oxime and azo dye...

Reactions of P-donor ligands with N-silyl(halogeno)organophosphoranimines: formation of cations with P-P coordination bonds and poly(alkyl/aryl)phosphazenes at ambient temperature.

A series of phosphine donor-stabilized N-silylphosphoranimine salts [R'3P.PR2=NSiMe3]+Br- were prepared from the direct reaction between the phosphoranimines BrR2P=NSiMe3 (R = Me, OCH2CF3) and the tertiary phosphines nBu3P and Me3P. The 1JPP values of these salts exhibit an unusual dependence on the substituents at the phosphoranimine acceptor and appear to reflect an electronic push-pull mecha...

A Case of Concerted Formation of Five and Six Member Rings; Solvolytic Behavior of 1-Aryl-1-chloro- -4,8,13,17,21-pentamethyl-4,8,12,16,20-docosapentaenes

The solvolytic behavior of benzyl chloride 1 (1-chloro-1-pheny-l4,8,13,17,21pentamethyl-4,8,12,16,20-docosapentaene) revealed inconsistency in some aspects, thus the reaction mechanism is ambiguous. The ethanolysis rate (ku) of 1 is practically the same as the rate of its saturated analog (ku / ks = 2.5), indicating that the reaction may proceed by way of an unassisted process. On the other han...

Iodine(III) Reagents in Radical Chemistry

The chemistry of hypervalent iodine(III) compounds has gained great interest over the past 30 years. Hypervalent iodine(III) compounds show valuable ionic reactivity due to their high electrophilicity but also express radical reactivity as single electron oxidants for carbon and heteroatom radical generation. Looking at ionic chemistry, these iodine(III) reagents can act as electrophiles to eff...
